About the Canyon
From Marahau you’ll join us on an exhilarating water taxi ride through the Astrolabe Roadstead into Anchorage. You then leave the golden sand beaches of the coast for a stunning 1.5 hour walk up and further into the Abel Tasman National Park. Along the way the guides will keep you entertained with endless amounts of stories about the history, culture, flora and fauna of the park. Delicious lunch is served before the action starts. At the top of the canyon you’ll jump into your rubber suit, crank your harness tight and pop your helmet on. After a clear safety briefing by the guides you enter the truly remote environment of the canyon. You’ll be jumping, sliding, abseiling, scrambling, floating and ziplining through this canyon for about 3.5 hours. The trip finishes with a royal slide into Cleopetras Pool…From the pool it is a 30 minute stroll along the river and the beach back to Anchorage where your water taxi awaits to zip you back to Marahau.

Gold Rush
Abel Tasman Canyon's Doom Creek canyon and our Skywire Experience
This combo is designed for groups in mind for a full day of action, adrenaline and adventure! Whether you’re organising a staff party, a stag/hens party, family get together - this deal is for you!
Doom Creek was part of the gold fields of Canvastown. Back in 1864 Canvastown was booming when the gold rush saw lots of gold miners setting up their canvas tents in the area. Despite its name, Doom Creek was actually very rich in gold, but it was the immense boulders that made Doom Creek difficult to mine. These days it is exactly these boulders that make Doom Creek great for canyoning. What an opportunity to leap of rocks into a creek in which occasionally gold is still found. But that is not the only rush you will get on this day. As part of this combo, you will also get to soar on one of the world’s longest flying fox at a speed of up to 100 km/hr. You will fly high above the scenic forest canopy whilst taking in views of Cable and Delware Bay, the Western Ranges, and D’urville Island. What is not to love
About the Canyon
An easy 45-minute walk will take you to the start of Doom Creek. The guides will give you a thorough safety briefing focused on jumping and floating through rapids. Then it is time to venture into Doom Creek, a beautiful slot canyon with a few small jumps to get you going. At the end of this slot, Doom Creek joins up with the mighty Wakamarina River which is a lot wider. The vertical walls make for great jumps, some well over 10m high. You decide how high you want to climb, to then turn around and launch yourself into crystal clear pools. About 3 hours’ worth of walking, wading, swimming and jumping takes us straight back to the car park. You will absolutely love this trip if you are into jumps and swimming.
